WORD FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
The paradox of youth employability: every year, we compare the number of young people applying for jobs with the number of positions filled, and cry out « how can we solve the problem of unemployment? »; a study by the International Labour Office (ILO) indicates that in sub-Saharan Africa, over 60% of young workers do not have the level of education required for the position they occupy. At the same time, there has been a gradual decline in educational standards. These phenomena indicate that efforts need to be made in the training of young people in our countries.
In today’s globalized economies, our young people are obliged by their training to imagine their professional lives within the framework of their own nation, or at most within the French-speaking world. All of which is an obstacle to their development.
Building Capacity Institue is a teaching unit that combines global standards and openness to the world. Indeed, as soon as we opened our doors, we embarked on the quality assurance certification process in accordance with the international standard ISO 21 001 version 2018. Implementing the requirements of this standard enables us to guarantee teaching of a quality that is recognized the world over. We also want our young people to benefit from globalization. That’s why our courses are bilingual: 40% in English and 60% in French.
We firmly believe that the major challenges facing young people’s employability are: competence and openness to the world, and Building Capacity Institute is the solution!
